Lodge Complaint
This section relates to NSW law only. Other States and Territories may differ.
As soon as possible after any incident with police, write down everything that happened.
Make sure you take note of the details – record the time/date/place, the officers name and/or vehicle registration, and whether you believe the officers actually followed the law themselves. Please include as much information about the incident as possible. Sign and date your notes.
REPORT ALL INCIDENTS that you have with Police at a beat to the Sydney Beat Project.
We also strongly encourage you to make a formal complaint to the NSW Ombudsman and/or the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board – if you are able to do so. A greater number of complaints will help to demonstrate the level of police harassment.
